Dance Night

Our next dance is Saturday 24 October at Dance Worx due to a Ukrainian social event at their hall.

The intermediate/advanced lesson will be Rumba, taken by Meryl and Paul will continue with Tango Terrific for the the Beginner/Refresher lesson.

At the 10th October dance, the $147 Jackpot was won by Annette and the Charity Jackpot reached $500, so both jackpots start again (see below for their status for 24 October dance). We donated $500 to Women's Housing and the receipt plus a homepage snapshot is below - just hit the down arrow in the collapsible group.

We are also well underway in planning for the 5th Saturday in October special event. Please see the flyer below and we strongly encourage early booking so as to not miss out because numbers will be strictly limited.

STATUS OF JACKPOTS for our next dance: SATURDAY 24 OCTOBER

How our 'Give Back' Jackpots Work

Our 'Give Back' jackpots are a way that we ALL are giving back to a charity and the dance community.

Jackpot funds: From every paid entry, Dance Night puts $1 to each jackpot. The thermometers show what is the accumulated amount from the paid attendances of previous dance(s).

Jackpot entry: Every attendee's name is added to the Dance Jackpot. Names are only taken off the list if there has been no attedance in a 3-month period (equivalent of six dances).

The Draw: A name is picked from all the collected names to date and if that person is there on the night they win the Dance Jackpot. If not, it carries onto to our next dance with the added money according to the attendance on that given night.

OUR VENUE

What a beautiful space this community hall is! A spacious 24m x 15m dance floorspace (not including the tables) and its festive décor makes it truly much more a ballroom than a hall!

Community + ballroom is what Ballroom Dance Night is about. We, as individuals, have all chosen to dance for various reasons and yet, it's in this gorgeous ballroom, that together we dance, we learn, we laugh, and we share the experience of being a community. A community of dancers - having fun together - is what Kathleen and Geoff want Ballroom Dance Night to provide for anyone who attends. We warmly welcome you to join us.

Table seating is available for first takers but can be reserved if required. Reserve table seats here or through an email or phone/text message if you wish to secure a table with your friends.

THE PROGRAM FORMAT

The 30-31 dance program is static with the same dances but in a different order with two pieces of music per dance. The program is deliberately designed to be reliable for attendees knowing what dances they can expect. The permanent dances are listed below. Variety to the program is brought through different pieces of music that have been individually timed and phrased to four routines for each dance. Our commitment is to provide a harmonious blend of traditional and modern music that is often nostalgic or memorable, which generally enhances the connection to how we dance. Different music can sometimes be a challenge for those who are used to hearing the same music, but it can also be an inspiration to up-skill and learn more about dancing.
